WALDO NEWSPAPER
a student-led journalistic newspaper
For me, The Waldo Newspaper is much more than a publication. Coming from my personal experiences, it embodies my ideal belief that apparent chaos always hides a truth waiting to be found. Just as spotting Waldo among a sea of distractions demands patience and acute focus, I believe every challenge we face can be resolved by zeroing in on its core cause and acting decisively. Thus, The Waldo Newspaper aims to actualize it.
I’m inspired by the spirit of Where’s Waldo?: once we identify what truly matters, the clutter fades away and the next step becomes clear. That is the clarity I strive to bring to our readers each day: guiding them past the noise, shining a light on root problems, and inviting them to join me in turning insight into meaningful action.
BOOK "CITIZEN 101"
self-published book

Growing up in Korea, I watched the promise of democracy dim under warning lights I could no longer ignore. Discrimination was routinely excused as something “necessary” for security or tradition, while friends my age shrugged at elections, convinced their votes carried no weight. On top of that indifference, the country lurched through threats of martial-law plans and the back-to-back impeachments of two presidents. Each episode felt like an alarm bell, louder than the last, telling me that democratic rights survive only when ordinary citizens defend them. Citizen 101 is my answer to that alarm.

At its heart, the project is about reclaiming civic confidence and reminding young Koreans—myself included—that politics is ours to shape, not a distant spectacle run by elites. By defining what means to be a citizen, I try to turn abstract civics into practical know-how.
National Assembly Legislative Assistant
Internship

At the Office of Congressman Yongman-Kim—whose great-grandfather, Baekbeom Kim Gu, was one of the most influential figures during Korea’s independence era—I provided direct support on a range of legislative and policy matters. My role included drafting political documents such as speeches, policy briefs, and official communications to advance the Congressman’s priorities. I also assisted by analyzing proposed legislation and current political issues, offering strategic recommendations to inform policy decisions. Additionally, I contributed to the development of new policy initiatives that reflect the office’s enduring commitment to veteran affairs, honoring the distinguished historical legacy associated with Congressman Yongman-Kim’s lineage.
Korea Youth Philosophy Organization "Youth Viator"
Student-Led Non-Profit Organization

After observing an absence of educational opportunities that genuinely promote students' thinking abilities within the Korean public education system, I founded Youth Viator to champion philosophy as a vital tool for intellectual development. The organization works to publicize philosophy among Korean youth, aiming to cultivate their critical thinking skills and encourage freedom of speech. We strive to create an open and accessible community where students interested in the field can freely explore complex ideas and enjoy philosophical discourse without being hindered by traditional barriers to access.
